2008 season

July 20, 2008
By Richard Lopez of Sidney Lanier High School

After voks Loose starting Rover Jacob Saucedo, expect the defense to have a sudden set back. Returning Lettermen are a big key for the Voks. Leading the Defense is Emilio Garza the Junior Linebacker, Garza has a impressive size and looks promissing in being a monster on the field. The help of fellow juniors Johnny Lucio, and Edward Castro and seniors Henry Perez and Victor Adame are sure to pull the voks through the absence of Saucedo. The Big question on every vok fan's mind has been "who will be the new work horse since senior Josh Gamez is no longer present?" and the answer is Junior Running Back Rudy Guerra. Guerra is about 5'3" almost half the size of Josh Gamez but looks to be promising in bringing Lanier Back to it's former glory. Helping Guerra lead the offense is Returning Senior Reciver Jonathan Luna and Junior Reciver Samuel Escobar. Escobar looks promising on helping lanier become more than a one dementional team by opening a passing game for the voks. Two major problems for the vok offense is a lack of quarterbacks and Linemen the only returning linemen Junior Jacob Guerra who has great size but still needes lots of improvemnet, will have to help bring his line together and get the job done. This vok team is very talented and skilled so expect them to do well in the season, But the major setback for the voks will be the lack of seniors and leadership.

I will be keeping all vok fans up to date with week by week coverage.
sincerely,
Richard Lopez
